Assembly of the month
Harvesting potatoes in Bolivia

Assembly ideas for September 2008

For our September assemblies, we have a harvest theme - looking at how farmers grow potatoes in Bolivia.

Take a look at our primary assembly and our secondary assembly.

But that's not all...

Keep your eye on this page. Every month we will highlight a new and topical assembly plan ready for you to use. Most will be aimed at primary school children but are easily adapted for use in secondary schools. Some months we will provide an additional Secondary assembly. Welsh versions are available for all.

For a complete list of past assemblies and upcoming themes, see below. And if you have a moment, please email and let us know what you think - we'd love to hear any suggestions you have for future topics.

January 2008 -  Are you prepared? looks at the importance of being prepared for disasters and emergencies.

February 2008 (in English and Welsh) - Food for thought is on fair trade - to tie in with Fairtrade Fortnight (25 Feb - 9 March).

March 2008 (in English and Welsh) - Water water everywhere (primary) - looks at the difference a supply of clean fresh water makes to a village in Bangladesh. And, Wonder Women (secondary) looks at gender issues and poverty.

April 2008 (in English and Welsh) - Linking to World Heath Day, the Running on empty assembly notes include images, case studies and interactive tasks.

May 2008 (in English and Welsh) - connected to our Christian Aid Week resource - Transforming lives is the secondary school resource, and Transformers is the primary school resource.

June 2008 (In English and Welsh) - our primary resource Far from home and our secondary resource Forced from home both tie in to Refugee Week (16 - 22 June 2008)
