How can conflict be transformed into opportunities for secure, peaceful and positive development?
That's the question students attending the 2008 Global Student Forum will be investigating, on Monday 30 June.
Fomer child soliders who now work with a Christian Aid partner in Sierra Leone will be sharing their experience of building peace.
The day will help your students become peer educators for global citizenship. What's more, they will meet inspiring political leaders and get the chance to take part in seminars and debates.
At the end of the day the conference will have encouraged participants to consider three key questions:
- Why do wars start? What causes them and whether there is such a thing as a just war.
- Who is affected by wars? How are young people affected and how does war continue to affect people even after the guns are silenced?
- What can be done to promote peace?
