Our gospel star features on new album
Acoustic Gospel II album cover

Forget X Factor - Christian Aid, in partnership with Rockhill Music has been getting in the gospel grove.

After national heats this summer Zoe Oputah, 16, stalled stiff cometition to win the chance to record a track on Rockhill's new album Acoustic Gospel Volumne II, which was released this November. Zoe will also become Christian Aid's youth ambassador for one year, singing and speaking about our partners' work at events and festivals for young people.

Our recent launch party was a resounding success. There were perfomances from a number of artists on the new album including 4 Kornerz, GKReal, Ayodele Edwards, Mercy, Matt Parry, Paula Wallen, Jaz Elington and Zoe.

One party goer said: 'it was an absolutely fantastic night, Christian Aid is doing great work and I feel really inspired!'

Others said of the album:

'A remarkable album, one of the best gospel albums to come out of this country! One to have.'
Muyiwa, Premier Radio

'Guys. I love this! I haven't been able to stop listening to it!'

With every album sold £1.50 will be donated towards raising vital funds for children's charities, like Christian Aid partner, Humanité Nouvelle.

Humanité Nouvelle works in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) where one of Africa's most brutal civil wars has been fought. And offers a place of refuge to street children in the capital Kinshasa as well as providing life-skills training, basic medical care and food.
