Our February primary assembly, 'Fair's fair', encourages pupils to think about the global stories contained in our shopping bags and to understand fairtrade as a positive step towards responsible shopping habits.
All of the food we eat has been made or grown by someone somewhere else.
This assembly focuses on cocoa farmers in Ghana, who set up a cooperative to grow and sell their cocoa for a fair price. The money they earn helps to support community projects, such as building schools for their children.
We can help farmers from poorer countries trade their way out of poverty by buying products marked with the Fairtrade symbol.
