Nyipock the baker: September 2014 assembly and presentation
Theme: Harvest, community, conflict and peace
Country: South Sudan
Nyipock making bread

This Harvest, we’re thinking about one of Britain’s most popular foods: bread!

Our primary assembly explores the importance of baking bread, here in Britain and for a community in South Sudan.

Nyipock is a baker who provides daily bread for his whole community.

He left his village in South Sudan when the violence meant it wasn’t safe to stay. Now he has returned with his family, and our partner has helped them to build a new house so that they have safe shelter.

Classroom activities on the theme of bread and baking follow this assembly.
