Daily bread for all: September 2014 assembly and presentation
Theme: Harvest, community, conflict and peace
Country: South Sudan
Nyipock making bread

This Harvest, we’re thinking about one of Britain’s most popular foods: bread!

Our secondary assembly explores the process of making bread and the varieties of bread around the world, especially its importance for a community in South Sudan.

Nyipock is a baker who provides daily bread for his whole community.

He left his village in South Sudan when the violence meant it wasn’t safe to stay. Now he's returned with his family, and our partner has helped them to build a new house so that they have safe shelter.

Subject-based classroom activities on the theme of bread and baking follow this assembly.
