On International Women's Day (8 March 2008) thousands of events are held to inspire women and celebrate their achievements. From business conferences to networking events, craft markets, theatrical performances and fashion parades.

Christian Aid works with organisations in countries all over the world who help women play a full and active part in their communities. Our assembly this month for secondary schools is all about the role of gender in reducing poverty.
