Cheltenham racecourse

Join thousands of people over the August bank holiday weekend who are passionate about the arts, contemporary culture and the pursuit of peace and justice around the world.

Christian Aid is a main partner of the festival and will be hosting events and workshops at their venues for young people called ‘The mix’ and ‘Humanic’. One for the ladies is Saturday’s ‘Girls night out’, hosted by Rachel Gardener from the Romance Academy and in partnership with the Church of England’s Caris magazine. Don’t forget to visit G-source to pick up youth leader materials.

Various dates in September / October: Transformation!

Are you wondering how to get young people excited and passionate to change the world? We're hosting nine one-day events this autumn to give you ideas and inspiration to do just that.

There will be lots of advice, practical tips, prayer and worship - and activities for children and young people. You will be able to try out our latest simulation games and take a look at the resources we can offer to help you make change happen.

So if you want to help transform the world - let us borrow one day of your time and we'll show you how!

5 - 8 September: Church of Scotland National Youth Assembly - End of Part One

Apex Hotel, Dundee

This year the Assembly theme will consider endings and beginnings for the planet. Mark Yanconelli will be the guest speaker and Christian Aid will be contributing to the debates and workshops.

The Assembly will be an inspirational weekend for young people aged 16 - 25 who want to make a difference in their church and the world.

5 - 9 September 2008: SPEAK's Vocal Training

Oswestry, Shropshire

Join SPEAK for their annual training event... It'll be three days crammed full of opportunities to get trained, equipped, inspired and encouraged; so you'll be ready to go out and train, equip, inspire and encourage others. There will also be some thinking space to gain perspective and re-engage with justice issues and prayerful campaigning.

SPEAK's practical workshops and resources will give you the seeds to sow the justice and shalom of God into your SPEAK group, youth group, church, cell group, university or community.

13 September: Here our prayer

Sydenham, London

'Hear our prayer,' say young Christian's in South London. In response to growing concerns about knife crime, teenages in Sydenham and Forest Hill are holding an interdenominational church prayer day on 13 September.

Christian Aid will share stories about child soldiers and peacemakers in Angola. And through dance and art workshops and enjoying barbecues and debate, young people will be given a space to talk about the effects of violence at home and abroad.

Bridgewater and Leeds-Liverpool canals

I am sailing. I am changing the world in six days.

14 - 16 November 2008: Perpetual Motion

Wirksworth, Derbyshire

Christian Aid's East Midlands' team is holding an action-packed, inspiring youth weekend aimed at 12 - 18-year olds. With only 20 places going, it will be a great opportunity to gain an insight into global issues from our knowledgable and passionate team.

15 - 15 November: Rise and shine!

Glasgow

Recharge the inner youth leader in you this November.

The national Church of Scotland is running a 24-hour event on 15 - 16 November. Youth leaders can attend a range of workshops, enjoy worship and chill out with others. 

Christian Aid's youth team will be offering training on how to use our latest mpower resource, Eyes on the storm, including how to weave hip-hop music into the Burma crisis.
