Take action!
Nearly three billion people go without the basic necessities of food, clean water, shelter, healthcare and education. This means that half of the world's population are struggling to survive, let alone lead fulfilling lives.

Christian Aid actively challenges the systems that keep people in poverty. We do this by campaigning. Whether it’s by sending a postcard or an email to the government or marching on Parliament, campaigning makes a difference!

Take part in our latest campaign action on our main website.

Campaigning works!
Every action we take, however small, can help make a difference. Even small actions, like signing a petition, can have a huge impact on the lives of the world’s poorest people. Christian Aid has campaigned and achieved success on many issues including debt, landmines and child labour. We were part of the Make Poverty History campaign which resulted in huge public awareness and millions of pounds of debt relief for poor countries.
Climate change

Climate change is one of the biggest challenges facing the world today. It will hit poor countries hardest. In sub-Saharan Africa alone, 182 million people could die of diseases directly attributed to climate change by the end of the century. Find out more about our climate change campaign

Time to take action on trade justice

Unfair trade rules deprive poor countries of roughly £370 billion/€540 billion each year. Thousands of people have played a role in cancelling debt in some poor countries and getting supermarkets to stock fair-trade products. Thousands of people continue to campaign with us. You and your students can too.
Global Gang, our children's website, includes easy-to-understand explanations of trade rules, climate change and other issues. It encourages children to think about why these situations are unfair and show them how they can take action. Click here for some great ways for children to change the world - including our great video competition!
