Christian Aid is an agency of the churches in the UK and Ireland. We work wherever the need is greatest.

Because we believe in strengthening people to find their own solutions to the problems they face, we support local organisations, which are best placed to understand local needs. We also give help on the ground through 16 overseas offices.

We strive for a new world transformed by an end to poverty and we campaign to change the rules that keep people poor.

Although Christian Aid is inspired by the gospel, we work with supporters, organisations and communities of many different faiths, and of no religion at all. This work is motivated by a belief that faith should be demonstrated in practical ways that help people in need.

Christians see God as a God of justice and equality who loves everyone. Christian Aid believes this means we all have a duty to help all people.

You can read more about our beliefs over on our main site.
